Canada 150 Medal Program

Oshawa’s Canada 150 Medal Program

Deadline Extended to July 31, 2017

For the first time in our history, the Government of Canada has chosen not to have a national medal program to celebrate such a monumental anniversary. I believe that our sesquicentennial is an important milestone worthy of recognition. As part of the celebrations for Canada`s 150th birthday, I want to recognize the individuals in our community that have made Oshawa and Canada such a wonderful place to live.

The tenants of volunteerism and civic pride have deep roots in our community and across our great nation. The contributions of faith communities, service clubs and countless volunteers have played an important role in our history. There is no better way to celebrate this important year than by recognizing the outstanding contributions of the people who have made Oshawa great.

Oshawa’s Canada 150 Medal program is open to all residents of the Oshawa riding and is designed to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of our community and our country. Nominees will be selected from the following categories: Community Builders, Service Clubs, Good Neighbours, Arts, Culture & Heritage and Other. The recipients will be presented with their medals befitting their service to our community later in 2017.
